The film festival is organized by the Department of English, Rani Birla Girls’ College.

During the course of the festival, the films will be screened everyday at 12 PM and will be available to watch till 29th Decembere.

To watch the films and to know more about each film, click on each film’s title below. This will take you to the individual page for each movie. Around 12 PM on the scheduled day, each film will be screened on its individual page. All films screened during the festival will have English Subtitles which can be enabled by clicking/tapping the “CC” icon.

27th December: The Color Purple by Steven Spielberg

The Color Purple is a 1985 American epic coming-of-age period drama film directed by Steven Spielberg and written by Menno Meyjes, based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning 1982 novel of the same name by Alice Walker. It was Spielberg’s eighth film as a director, and marked a turning point in his career, as it was a departure from the summer blockbusters for which he had become known.

28th December: Tintin in Tibet by Ellipse/Nelvana

Tintin in Tibet is the twentieth volume of The Adventures of Tintin, the comics series by Belgian cartoonist Hergé. It was serialised weekly from September 1958 to November 1959 in Tintin magazine and published as a book in 1960. Hergé considered it his favourite Tintin adventure and an emotional effort.

Tintin in Tibet was adapted for the 1991 Ellipse/Nelvana animated series The Adventures of Tintin. Watch the film here

29th December: The Tragedy of Macbeth by Joel Coen

The Tragedy of Macbeth is a 2021 historical thriller film written, directed and produced by Joel Coen, based on the play Macbeth by William Shakespeare.

Led by a stellar Denzel Washington, The Tragedy of Macbeth strips the classic story down to its visual and narrative essentials.
